when test running my outboard for the first time in a couple of years, I noticed that there wasn't a stream of cooling water exiting from the port that is about half-way up the shaft housing and which sits above the water line. is there a troubleshoot to check the water pump or is disassembly and a visual neccessary? the motor runs ok even after a long down spell but not seeing the expected water flow causes me concern vis-a-vis possible overheat/sieze. Also if disassembly is required - how do i remove the bottom housing(s) to access the water pump? and finally, i have no idea of the year of manufacture nor how to find out in order to obtain a proper tech manual - is there a stamping or somesuch somewhere on the engine or flywheel to identify the year? there are stampings in several places but these appear to be induvidual part ident. numbers. any help would be greatly appreciated.
