I need a year id on my evinrude

Howdy. I am about to be in possession of an evenrude fastwin 18 hp motor. the only tags on the motor were 15024 02569.
I was told by someone that this motor is a 1968 model, but that can't be true. the motor was originally bought in the 50's.
i have some pictures of the motor, if anyone could hazard a guess at the year.
