99 Evinrude 9.9 starves of gas. Last year my 9.9 / 4 stroke would start to sputter for gas- pumping the bulb would bring it back to life, only to stall 20sec or 1-2 min. later, depending on speed. Repair shop couldn't find anything. This year same problem, different repair shop said float was ¾" off (?), replaced plug and ignition box. They said it wouldn't start, or ran really rough- I never had that problem. Bulb does not go totally 'soft', 1 or 2 slight squeezes is all it takes to bring the motor back. I have had it on 2 tanks, and 4 complete gas lines, and even hosed it right into the filter, bypassing the connection.
