I am asuming this is an electic motor. probably under the motor head near where the power cord enters. you might try walmart for a new prop, I have seen replacement props there

The model number is on a metal decal plate on the right side under the power head or on some earlier models look for stamped numbers inside the housing. If sears doesnot list or have your part, get a metal prop from www.michiganwheel.com Good luck, TG.

I have a 1990 Sears Gamefisher 9.9 outboard motor(Model 225581993) that is over heating. The last time i was out it was running well when the motor started. Then it lose power then quit. Then it was smoking and smelt really hot. When i tried to start it the first pull on the start rope was quit tuff but it started and the water coming out of the motors exhaust was very hot and steaming. My question is there a thermostat in this motor or should i be looking to see if there is some kind of blockage in the water jackets.I have looked at the impeller and it seems to be in good shape.
Any help would be great.
Thanks
Claude
