I have a 1999 115 Evinrude Ficht. At full throttle running (5600 rpm) the engine starts to missfire (sputter). I changed plugs, Fuel filter, replaced the gas etc. It still does it. Mostly at full throttle. Any ideas why?

I have a 99 115 Ficht and it has been a disappointment to say the least. I bought it in march and it hasn't run right yet. The worst part is no one can stop the knocking and I am paying the bill. The motor has 56 hours and has already had the oil pump replaced. When you plane off the motor knocks so bad you think it is coming off the back of the boat. If anyone has an answer I would love to hear it. I don't know of a machanic in the Southeast that will honestly say they can fix these motors.

We have a 90 Evinrude Ficht (1999) at work. We have had a lot of trouble with it including the one stated. After a lot of footering we got in the professionals, five to be exact and not one could fix it.In the end our electrician fixed it, afraid I don't know what the problem was but it was in the electrics.
