I have a 14' aluminum Mirrocraft that is leaking, through the rivets I would guess (no obvious damage). It is a chronic leak that has gotten worse recently.Does anyone know of a product that can be rolled or brushed onto the entire bottom, rather than trying to identify the exact spot? Reason I ask is that the boat is at a remote summer cabin and there isn't a lot of time available for troubleshooting.
Follow Ups:
I'm a former roofer. Stay away from any of the coatings designed for a roof. They can't take the abrasion that you get on a boat bottom. They will also separate in time leaving bubbles on the surface that will trap water. I've seen some real nightmares on metal roofs caused by some of these coatings.
There used to be a roofing paint for mobile homes and motor homes that might work. A good epoxy paint should take care of your problem but it MUST be completely dry for this to work. I have repainted 3 aluminum boats in my time that did leak a little. Epoxy paint always worked for me but I used it liberally. Use a feeler gauge in all the seems and mark the areas that the gauge goes into freely.
