Found a weedeater and would like to convert it to a boat motor.
Any ideas? Websites to visit?
I know they don't have all that much torque, so I'm thinking I'll have to either contrive a clutch or gearbox or use a very small prop...

IF you have a big weed eater, you can use the blade adapter to fit it with an inexpensive trolling motor prop. The large weed eaters already have a clutch. Basically the only thing left would be to fabricate some sort of motor mount that would clamp on the shaft and allow the thing to turn side to side and up and down. These large motors 2.5 cu.in. or larger should push a small jon boat or canoe. good luck,TG.

I would love to see that project, maybe the easiest way to go would be to buy maybe a 1hp prop and trip it down until the weedeater can turn it
