I second that leica's digitals aren't a good bang for buck digital.
maybe even try the canon g2 used I got mine in perfect shape for $425. There is also a G5 coming out that looks wonderful too keep your eyes open

You just can't keep up with them!!!! First my son-in-law had a G2. As soon as the G3 came out he sold his G2 on ebay and bought the G3.
Now I'm going to have to do him a one-upance. As soon as the G5 hits the market, I'll have to just get it. Dang!!!
