WOW! Went digital after all. Finally made up my mind on digital camera choice. My Nikkor AF lenses work fine with this new rig. Now I don't have to waste time, money and effort printing just to see what I have.
The choice was one of cost and the lenses I already have. The D100 cost compaired to the D1's put me into the game. The features of the D100 are adequate for my purposes.......Frank

Congratulations Frank-I looked long and hard at the D100 and came VERY close to buying one. I ended up with the Fuji S2 Pro in it's place and have not regretted my choice. They are both great cameras and capable of outstanding photos.
Now, a couple more prime lenses and I'll be set for a while- I hope!
One of these days I need to finish the roll in my film body...

Double A's ,they're everywhere. For the less well healed G.W Bush economy wage earner,.there is the Nikon 5700.Loks alot like a Fuji model.Changing lenes opens up the D100 cameras to dust,in the fully sealed Nikon 5700 with the longest Zoom range of any Digi, that is not a problem.

I owned several Coolpix models in the past, the 950, 995, and the 5700. The 5700 is a great camera and I had very good results with it. In the prosumer style cameras it is among the best choices. The big advantage to the DSLR models, if you discount the interchangable lenses, is the increased sensor size and corresponding dynamic range. As good as the 5700 and similar models are, they really can't compete in difficult situations. For typical usage though, they are capable of amazing performance!
