Here's some pics of the camera by Sigma (SD9). As for the sensor, some details are provided, but I see two problems: the capture is only 3.43 Mp and the focal length multiplier is 1.7 times. Call me when they get to 6 Mp and under 1.5X the focal length.

John,Yes, it is intersting, though the new Canon D60 uses their new high pixel count CMOS technology (not CCD as others do). CMOS operates with less voltage, much cool temperature, and offers great battery life. The really great news is that the Canon D60 will hit the streets at around $2,200 for the body! Having owned the last yuear's model, D30, for over a year now i can say that the D60 looks to be a true winner. The Fovreon chip is interesting, though the competition is getting very high for pro-sumer digital cameras nowadays. Check our dpreview's website at link below for more information and their excellent discussion boards.
