Hi all, first time in this asylum board, glad I stopped in :-)My brother is looking to get into casual photography and wants to get a decent all around 35mm camera that is easy to use, and compatible with different lenses and such. Neither of us are camera buffs (yet), so he's a bit hesitant about used but willing to try if you can guide us.
Budget is around $350 total. He has seen a EOS Rebel 2000 with Tameran lense and tripod for $349. Is this a good place to start?
Any others he should look at of avoid?
Thanks in advance, feel free to email me with info if you prefer (online sources would also be appreciated).

Check out www.bhphotovideo.com It's NOT a ripoff joint like most of the ones in NYC. It IS cheap, it is also fast, and brusque to the point of startlement, i.e. "that's what you want, name, card #, address, thank you your order number is ... click!"Check out reviews of places to buy cameras at www.photo.net or www.photagraphyreview.net.
