Where do you buy wine?

Ok, this board is dead. So here's a question that interests me: What kind of place do you buy wine?
I usually buy wine at wine shops where I know the buyers. People who I trust for recommendations. I don't stockpile one brand or varietal so I'm always asking what
they like.
I live in a small remote town, so usually I buy wine when I'm on the road. Not much here except local wine. Imports are pretty basic.

I tend to stay away from big box stores where the staff is untrained.
