LAWINECO is my local go-to wine store. They have a rapidly changing inventory of high quality, great value wines.
If time allows, I'd also be inclined to take a day trip to Santa Barbara county to check out some of the wineries there. Call in advance, especially on weekdays. Check out the link below for suggestions. If time is limited to just one day you can confine your tour to just Santa Barbara, a worthwhile destination in and of itself. About a 1.5 hour drive from LA (depending on route and traffic).
