I grabbed some of my favorite chardonnay for 16 bucks a bottle!

Mer Soleil unoaked chard in the ceramic bottle. It was killed immediately.

The full on Mer Soleil was 22 bucks, so tonight will be butter/oak fest.

We had friends over for a smoked pork loin and I picked up a 2009 Rombauer Merlot and 2009 Groth cab at the same sale and both were 'light style' enough to match the food. The Rombauer was better than I remembered from them - much more structure than anticipated!

The Groth was a bit generic.
