Went to Ferrarri-Carano Holiday Open House...

...at the far end of Sonoma near Dry Creek.

A semi-annual event for wine club memebers and guests.

My wife loves their chardonnays, especially the special ones available only to the wine club and at the winery.

The event featured about 10 wines at stations throughout the fermenting room, barrel and special wine tasting room with one of their wines and a small portion of food to accompany it.

A jazz band played with a singer. XMas decorations everywhere. Very nice.

Then upstairs in the tasting/retaoil room, you could taste anything and purchase at discounts.

The two best whites were the Fiorella chardonnay and the Reserve chardonnay. The Belle Terre chardonnay we tasted upstairs was also good.

Of the reds I thought the Sienna was excellent, especially at a little over $20 and they had a special on magnums.

My other favorite was the Prevail Back Forty Cab at $85, a little too pricey for my tastes.

We also stopped at Zichichi and Preston on Old Dry Creek Rd. before heading home. Bought zinfnadel at both.
