Rombauer tasting...

Posted by mkuller on October 3, 2011 at 12:29:31:

...a local wineshop had a Friday night tasting of Rombauer wines.

2010 Chardonnay $32 - this was as spectacular as ever, one of our annual favorites. "Blackhawk crack", indeed.

2008 Merlot $32- this was surprising because I'm not usually a fan but it was my favorite of their reds and was more complex than the others.

2008 Cabernet $46 - this was just released and still pretty tight but had some potential - fairly light style.

2009 Zinfandel $28 - their zins tend to be on the lighter, sweeter side, but this one seemed to have little else going on. My wife thought this might make a good desert wine.
