Cabernet tasting...

Posted by mkuller on May 14, 2011 at 10:58:47:

...intersting results from this month's blind wine tasting.

6. Ruby Hill Livermore 2008 $22....24pts

5. Tudal Clift Vinyard 2008 $27....23pts

4. Mobius Sonoma 2008 $15.........22pts

3. BV Rutherford 2007 $25.........21pts

2. Turnbull Napa 2007 $30..........21pts (tied with #3 but won the taste-off - 92 pts WS)

1. Tudal Napa Estate 2008 $45......13pts

The group's results mirrored mine, except that I didn't care much for the bottom 3 wines.

It was interesting that the bottom 5 wines all scored so close together and then the top wine was pretty much a consensus (four of six 1st place scores).

Top 3 wines all came from Costco - about a month ago, I saw a rep there pushing Tudal.

I didn't post about our tasting last month because we did malbecs and I thought they all sucked.
