Some excellent pinots come from Napa's Carneros region.

2007 was a banner year for California wines.

By all estimates this one should have been a knock-out at $20.

It's not so much.

It isn't bad, but the 14.4% alcohol seems to dominate with just a little fruit in the finish.

Ok, for the price, but you could probably do better.
