You might also like Yellow Tail from Australia.

But spend a couple of more dollars and try Columbia Crest "Grand Estates" or Ch. Ste. Michelle regional wines.

In my experience the qualitative difference between a $8 bottle of wine and a $12 bottle can be significant. Used to be $5 to $8 before inflation. When you get past that range the cost to value decreases proportionally.

This is of course a gross generalization.
