The buy of the century??

Posted by rlindsa on May 29, 2010 at 12:22:10:

I was at a liquor store today and spotted a bottle of 2004 Chapoutier Le Meal (the red, not the white) without a price on it. I asked the guy how much it was, and he said he thought it was $23.99. He said he could look it up, but I said "that's okay" So they rang it up for $23.99!

I know 2004 was NOT a very good year in the Northern Rhone, but I have wanted to try an Hermitage for a while, but didn't want to pay the big bucks I normally see them listed for. Even this one is $150 and up on various wine sites. Wine Advocate gave it a 90 in 2007.

Anyone familiar with this wine?
