Spent the afternoon in Napa today...

...driving up the Silverado Trail.

Gorgeous fall day, the vinyards in fall color with the temp about 74.

Went to a private open house at Neyers Vinyards with friends who had an in.

Great food - roast pig, handmade pizzas in a brick oven, gnocci, etc.

Wine was good - I've always liked their chardonnay, their 2005 cab was a standout as was the zin they are discontinuing.

Then went to Frank Family vinyard further up the valley, usually one of our favorites. But it's changed - redone tasting room, new staff, no fun, all business. Forget it.

Driving back with the full moon over the vinyards and the early sunset - spectacular but a shock at 5:30PM.
