2007 Côtes du Rhône, Perrin & Fils "Reserve"

Posted by R Browne on April 16, 2009 at 20:38:00:

Curiosity led me to this wine as one of the local LA retailers deemed it a tremendous bargain. I found it at my local Trader Joe's at $6.99 a bottle. Only one lonely 2007 amongst a dozen or so 2006 bottles so I bought one of each. Tried the 2006 first and was underwhelmed. Even at the price consideration it was not very good. It only lasted one glass. A few days later I got the courage to try the 2007. Much better! A great bargain everyday wine for picnics (did I mention the screw top?) and backyard barbecues. Try a bottle of the 2007 and I bet you will buy a case for those occasions. A fairly simple wine that doesn't do any thing wrong rates a solid recommendation in the bargain category.
