But the Four Vines Biker...

...can be bought in wine shops and doesn't have the Turley exclusivity cache'.

Originally, some years back, Turley wines was begun by Helen Turley, a legend in California winemaking. She does some consulting and owns Marcassin, who produces highly rated, expensive, nearly unobtainable pinot noirs.

Her brother, Larry, a surgeon, took over the winery maybe 6 or 7 years ago and then after a they bought another winery in the Paso Robles area a couple of years ago, moved most of the operations there.

While some of their wines are pretty good these days, I have the impression they may be a little over-rated and over-priced these days.

I have a wine cartoon which always makes me chuckle. A guy is in a shop tasting some wine. He says, "This wine tastes like swill". The owner says, "The Wine Observer gave it 93 points". His response, "I'll take a case."
