What the other guys say is the negative version of the following:
The good news:
A red wine.
A Claret. (red Bordeaux from France)
serve at room temp.
Dry and smooth, if opened a couple of hours before.
Plonky if served immediately (like virtually all reds).
Reliable, year in year out.
Unbeatable pedigree.
A safe choice, When you want above, and you're not sure about the other wines on the menu.
The one you have is a vintage (declared year) you can therefore check if it's good or very good.
The one you have comes from a recognised area of Bordeaux so you can read up on it.
Everyone has heard of Baron Phillipe de Rothschilds.

Down side:
Probably expensive
