wanted: 50-ish mm f 1.4-ish Nikon lens

Posted by mhardy6647 on May 30, 2008 at 18:48:37:

Anyone got a legacy (i.e., vintage) Nikkor ca. 50 mm f 1.4 lens? My son has been having great fun with my mid-1970s 50 mm f 2.0 Auto-Nikkor on his D40 (as well as our old Nikkormat FtN), but he'd like something faster.

I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask. Send me an e-mail if you've got something appropriate and not too pricey.

Feel free to delete this post if a WTB is inappropriate (I know we cannot sell at AA outside the Classifieds)!

Here's a photo he took last week with the FtN and the 50 mm f 2.0 lens using ISO 400 Kodak "pro" b&w film (scanned from a commercial 4" x 6" print)

thanks!

all the best,
