Computer question

Posted by Awe-d-o-file on May 15, 2013 at 09:31:32:

from my laptop smartpad driver/software: """To get the most out of your Smart-Pad™, make sure that both the Smart-Pad™ driver and application software are installed. Upon successful installation, a new Smart-Pad™ control tab will be added to the Mouse Properties dialog."""

So I go to "mouse" in control panel and the tab is there. I click on the tab and tick the box that says "Disable the smartpad when a USB mouse is present" then apply and OK.

No go, that annoying pad stays on and moves the cursor around at random even without actually touching it if you tap too hard on the keyboard while typing and is just annoying. This is why I'm posting.

I do notice that although it says both the software and driver are properly installed if the smartpad tab is there in "mouse" which it is the driver location, device, location, enable, stop are all either missing or grayed out.

Anyone?

Update: Logged on as Administrator and all grayed out things showed up. Disabled and applied everything, reopened to make sure settings stayed and the dumb thing is still on and NOT disabled even though Windows (7) says it is.

Update II: Did a restart and as Admin the settings stayed changed and show the device as disabled but it still works! Users still show no driver and have everything grayed out with no ability to make changes.
