I read The Road a few months ago; quite the experience and it stays with you. I can't wait to see the movie version with Viggo Mortensen-it was supposed to be out by now but has been pushed back a few months. I also read Blood Meridian by McCarthy and that book was just relentless, like bludgeoning yourself with a hammer.

Another very good post-apocalypse book is A Canticle for Leibowitz by Walter Miller.
