Hi Imanual,There are not yet plans available for the small Pacific City Skiff. We have had numerious inquires and will soon begin the project of working up a set of plans that we hope to have available by early next year.
Meantime here is a suggestion for a small buildable skiff that would have some speed on the water (relative term compared to a sailing vessel), carry a decent load safely, and would have a high degree of sea keeping ability as long as piloted with care...
John Gardners “The Dory Book†is a treasure trove of practical vessels. The 16-Foot Semi-Dory is a fine candidate for your purposes. This skiff is built with plywood and using the Stitch & Tape – Tape & Seam epoxy building method (check out System Three SilverTip Marine Epoxy ), leave out the floor boards, and she would be quite light. This skiff features 16’ LOA, Beam of 5+', a Bow 3’+ above the water, a Motor Well and one could power her with an older 2 cycle 25 hp. outboard. Or maybe one of the new 4 cycle outboards by Tohatsu (18 hp.) or Honda (the 20 Hp.) to get the speed (a 4 cycle 25 hp. maybe a little too heavy for a this boats' narrow transom).
One could also buy a similar vessel in fiberglass called the 16’ Amesbury Dory Skiff from the Stur-Dee Boat Co in Tiverton RI.
