Can anybody point me to a source that provides a history of the basic design, use, etc. of small pram-type boats like sabots and the like?What I'm interested in is how they got to have the characteristic shape (flat on the ends), what advantages this has over other designs, etc.
If you know of any books or web pages, that would be great.
