My father is giving me a 1988 15hp evenruid with an factory alternater and electiric start. ( birthday presant ) And I am wondering what kind of amperage the factory alternater will provide back too the batt.

I have not managed to locate that info on the evenruid page, they dont seam to carry much info on stuff more then 10 years old. I have seen a large variance in amps with addon alternaters, but I know this is a stock factory one.

I am also very curiouse as to the forward velocitey this will produce on a 14 foot fibergrass trihull total weight with gear anywhere from 600 too 900 pounds depending on the task at hand. The 6hp moved this boat slowely, maybe 5 mph 8 tops, but the 6hp also has a less then perfect prop, the tips are bent in a bit. I couldnt bring myself to pay 90 bucks for a new one on such a old motor. With a decent prop I figure the old 6 should do at least 10mph. so is the math simple? dos this literaly mean my 15 should produce speeds of 25 mph or so?
