I am considering building a 13' sneakbox that will be used in a shallow river. Power will be oars and a bow mounted trolling motor. I had the idea that it might be advantagious to build a well in the bow deck to receive the motor. This is to improve trim, give easy access, and maybe to allow me to run the prop very shallow without cavitation.

My question is if the prop center is say 6" under the hull, and at the point of the prop the hull is displacig maybe an inch of water and is three feet wide, will it cavitate?
