Boatex Rowing/Sailing 10' or 12'

I am looking into purchasing a Boatex fiberglass tender for frequent rowing and occasional sailing. I have a wife and two small children that I would like to take me with me on occasion. Is there significantly more room moving from the 10' to the 12' boat? Will the extra 2' make handling the thing out of the water much more difficult?
