Thanks for the great answer. You explained it very clearly. I have noticed some vignetting on some ofmy prints, but I don't recall whether the hood was on or off on those shots. I guess I need to make some test shots and figure out what works best.

PS: I used to have Acoustat Monitor Fours. Great speakers. Only reason I sold them was because my amps were a little finicky and had to get them repaired a lot. Now I'm into horns and have Altec Model 19's.
