Re: Now I Really Did The Unexpected:

At least I wasn't expecting to do it:
I really liked the Leica Minilux Zoom and thought it was actually better operating then the Contax T2 that I traded for my first digital camera (big mistake). I thought this will be a keeper, but just to convence myself I wanted to try the new Lecia CM, which is a minature replica of a Leica M (and it's cute). Big mistake! Even with 4"X6" prints the CM images were much sharper and clearer. It was difficult to tell the difference with close images but the CM pics of landscapes and images futher back then say 10' were very much more distinctly clear. The CM's Summarit 1:2.4/40mm. lens is almost as good as my Leica R6.2's Summilux-R 1:1.4/ 50mm lens.
There's a big difference between a Summarit lens and the Minilux's Elmar lens. Needless to say the CM turned out to be the keeper and I ended up spending more money then I intented.
What got me interested in going back to a p&s film camera like my old Contax T2 was when we returned from our trip from Puerto Vallarta, we thought my wife's photos from her little Leica mini were sharper and better then the digital photos we took, both from my new Fuji F10 and her Olympus 410. Looks like I'm still an analog man.
