Old and broken digital cameras

I haven't yet moved over to the dark side. I still happily use my Canon T-90 (I also have an Olympus XA, Superzoom 800 and I recently acquired a Canon Elph IXUS). I can see myself using my film cameras for years to come without any difficulty.

One question - how many Asylum incarceratees have more than one digital camera? Like in, I bought one, then it broke or I upgraded and the such. I am concerned that with the state of technology nowadays, peoples will be buying a new digital camera every few years with the oldies languishing in a drawer somewhere - unloved, unused and unsaleable. Who wants 1.2 megapixel camera nowadays (unless of course it is built into your new u beaut mobile phone)?

Any thoughts, comments?
