setting up VFD panel in Linux

Anybody familiar with setting up Linux software using a vacuum display panel, Iâ€™m trying to setup the VFD in Ubuntu, not sure which software to use. I was told lcd4linux is a good app. Iâ€™m using the Thermaltake Media Lab VFD panel.
