Hi, Bill,RealPlayer has evidently been known for yonks as spyware central. I once loaded the thing, and it took me two weeks to get all the germs off my box. This was when I became enamoured of Spybot S&D and Ad-Aware.
I understand that there's a ware called 'Real Alternative' that will play the appropriate files. It is (approximately) RP without the spyware. Haven't tried it, but it comes recommended by my faculty.
