If you board can accept either type, DDR is much cheaper. Gauging from your other post about video cards, you are really out of the loop, which happens to us all when we get busy and can't be OCD about the latest technology out there. Anyway, I think some great sites to check out would be:

www.extremetech.com
www.tomshardware.com

I would recommend checking out extremetech first, they have a lot of how to's and such. Hope this helps
