...six of us tasted six currently available Oregon pinot noirs.

The one you like best gets one point, like least 6 points and low points wins.

6. 2014 Cristom Mt. Jefferson $32 - 31pts - 3 lasts - had a little off flavor

5. 2014 A to Z $24 - 23pts (my #2)

4. 2013 Tendril Extrovert - $29 - (92pts WS - Costco) - 21pts - 1 first, 1 last

3. 2013 Willakenzie Estate $35 - 20pts - 1 first, 1 last

2. 2015 Willamette $25 - 16pts - 3 firsts, 1 last

1. 2015 Dennison Cellars $40 - 15pts - 1 first (my first)

They were all pretty good except for the one as you can see by the scores. They did change a little over the tasting. Either of the top wines are highly recommended with the Willamette being less expensive and easier to find.

Intersting....not knowing a couple of those, I would have assumed the Cristom to win out. Corked maybe?

When you do your tastings do you always choose the same vintages? My bad eyes can't tell from the photo.

...vintages are listed next to the wines below the picture.

The guy that brought the Cristom thought the same thing :-)

It just didn't have much fruit to balance the acidity but I don't think it was corked.

We usually don't do vintages but "currently available" so people can go buy the ones they liked.

A wine that is slightly corked (even when the cork doesn't smell musty) will have diminished fruit. In fact, its the first thing look for when I open one of mine...diminished fruit on the nose.

I guess I should learn to read!!!!!
