I am researching which tire to get to replace the originals on a 2005 Subaru Legacy Limited sedan. Tirerack.com and Consumersearch.com have been helpful sites.

The investigation, so far, suggests that either of the following two all-season tires would be an excellent consideration:

Yokohama AVID TRZ ("Standard Touring All Season", 89T SL, ~$500)

Goodyear Assurance TripleTred ("Passenger All Season", 89H SL, ~$650).

I am a moderate/prudent, Minnesota based, short distance, urban driver. I like to feel that my vehicle is under control and I also enjoy quiet and comfort.

Any thoughts, or other suggestions?

Thanks,

Rupe

Hi All.

After getting very pissed off at one Tires Plus location due to someone outright lying to me, I was very pleased to get evidently thoughtful and knowledgeable advice at a second Tires Plus location.

I will go with Bridgestone Potenza G009, High Performance, All-Season, H speed rated, tires. These are very highly rated by TireRack.com, a bit less than Goodyear Assurance TripleTred, and (importantly), can be returned within 30 days for a full refund/exchange if they don't satisfy.

(No relationship with Bridgestone or TiresPlus).

The Bridgestones should prove to be great quality for the $. (n/t), posted on March 7, 2007 at 13:57:12
