Like it?

I don't care for the 'page flash' when you change pages. Do you get used to that or does it get more annoying as time wears on?

All comments welcome.

...an iPad for school in September since she's spending the first semester of her junior year in Italy.

She loves it.

She can download many of her textbooks and with the Kindle app, she can read any book from Amazon.

Does color and the internet, too.

The GPS app saved our asses when we were trying to find where to return our rental car in Florence after dark in the rain.

Others I know with Kindles speak highly of them.

I had no problem getting used to it on my newest-generation Kindle. My only issue with it is that the feature that synchronizes my last-place-read between the Kindle and my ipod touch doesn't work at all.

even after stating I didn't need one, pointing to the stack of unread books on the study floor.

Got it anyway.

You get used to the flash. Adjusting the font is my favorite feature. Reading a book review then downloading it in a matter of seconds is, uh, a close second.

I'm not a gadget guy and I really warmed up to it.
