This book is for anyone that is or has been a runner or just enjoys sports related books. It is a fantastic look inside the realm of ultra marathons and the answer to why some people are constantly injured while others seem to be able to run forever. I’m a runner myself, so I understood all the problems the book addresses. I’m not a “barefoot freak” runner, but I do use Vibram KSO shoes to do all my running.

While the book arrives at the same answer I came to by myself, the best part of the book is the journey taken to get there. There is a reclusive ancient indian tribe of super athletes, a surfer babe that streaks down a beach nude, a murder, a one armed man, and a group of runners that almost meet their death in the Copper Canyons of Mexico. To top it off is eye witness to the greatest ultra marathon the world has never seen. What’s there not to like? I highly recommend this book. Once I picked it up I could not put it down. It normally takes me 2 to 3 weeks to read a book, this one took two days! Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
