Hi. I am new to this. I just bought a 14' boat with a 7.5hp Gamefisher and it leaks gas. I don't know a whole lot about boat motors but with a little help I can fix it. The gas was coming right out of the carb by where the choke is. I took it apart to see if the needle was stuck but it wasn't and the float is working fine too. I put it back together and tried it again and gas was coming out from above the prop. It was going down the shaft of the motor I believe. The motor started up and ran fine for a few seconds. If anyone has an idea please let me know as I do not want to take it to a shop and pay a bunch of money. Thanks for all your help.

I had this same problem, take the carb off and check the rubber valve that fits in a hole on the flange of the carb. It may be missing or have a hole, this it what controls the fuel pump. If you have a pdf reader then pull up this file,http://www.cpdonline.com/692508.pdf
hey thanks alot. that piece did have a hole in it. i ordered it from sears today. i also got that manual to show up. thanks for your help.
they won't let me pull up that pdf file i think i have to pay for it. but thanks anyhow. are you talking about the red piece on the rear of the carb? like i said i am not too good at this. but i appreciate your help. or do i need to open something else up? thanks
Also does anyone know who made this motor and what year it is? I can't find anything on the motor but the SN 68008093 and the model number 217-586753. Thanks
Does the motor have an overflow valve? Is it taking too much gas? I don't know much about the sears gamefisher....Do you have the gas line hooked up to the nipples or just hanging?
