I just bought one of these boats. Both oar locks broke on the first trip out ! Seems to me that these should be made of metal and not plastic. Just wondering if anyone else has had these problems and if there is a better set up (ie. metal oar locks) that can be fitted on the craft.
Thanks,

There are no parts available.I had the same problem and solved it as follows:
Bought a set of "Stearns" oarlock socket bushings. This nylon socket converts a 5/8" hole to 1/2". I shorthen it to fit the tapered hole.
Bought 2 - 1/2" x 8" "Stanley" steel eye bolts - zinc plated (Home Depot). Cut of the threads and smoothed the edges.
Total cost $10.00 Canadian
"Seems to me that they should be made of metal and not plastic."Seems to me that you are right. Welcome to the world of crapola. There's lots of it out there.
Have you tried a marine supplies store, or even a sporting goods store that sells some boats? Galvanized or Bronze oarlocks can be had at a reasonable price.
