Originally prosecco was a good alternative to inexpensive bubbly. Seems that the prices have gone up with it's current popularity.
I personally would rather have a good traditonal method over a Charmat method (prosecco) if the price is anywhere close.
Roederer Estate is consistently one of my favorites for the money.
